Room 307: Friday afternoon
Coraline was in her room, but she wasn't getting ready for the dance.

She was packing. And looking quite annoyed about it. "I mean, really," she muttered as she carefully slipped her laptop into its special bag. "Abu Dhabi? Of all the places to go."

[ooc: I'm sending Coraline away because, right now, I simply have no time to play her. She'll return for summer term. Post is open for the roomie and the big brother, if he's about.]

Sokka poked his head into the room. "You know, that looks rather suspiciously like 'luggage', and not, in fact, like a dress for the Valentine's dance. This is what we like to call 'bad'."

And yes, he was making "air quotes" with his fingers.

"It is packing, and it is bad." She didn't kick the floor, simply because that would be too childish. "My parents are going to Abu Dhabi on a contract, and they 'don't want me to be so far away' if they're going to be there," she explained, her opinion that that was very stupid quite clear in her voice. "Thank you for my rose."

He shrugged. "You're welcome for the rose. I guess it can be a going-away gift, or whatever, then." He held out his arms for a hug. "Are you going to be coming back?"

Coraline hugged him. "Abu Dhabi is far enough away they want me to be with them, but when they're done, I should get to come back," she said. "I'll send you postcards, so you can see what it looks like."

Sokka grinned. "Hey, yeah, that'd be pretty cool. I hope you have fun over there. I mean, I hear that Abudobe's a pretty hoppin' place. You might forget all about boring old Fandom."

Coraline made a face. "After Fandom, I think most places will be boring, but I'll try and find something interesting to send you," she said. "Thank you for being my big brother."

She sighed and blew her hair out of her face. "My parents have a contract to install something in some new building. The building is in Abu Dhabi, and they want me to go with them," she explained, annoyed all over again. She was going to miss Lucas. "It's only supposed to be temporary."

"My flight leaves at 9:30, so I have to be gone before then." She almost pouted and crossed her arms. "It's very annoying. I don't want to leave. And I never saw a gremlin."

Now probably wasn't the time to tell her about the one he met in class. "Hey, if I see one, I'll send you a picture," he promised. "This room'll be lonely without you."

She considered him for a minute, then stood right up on her tiptoes to hug him. "I will miss you," she told him. "I'll email you, and I expect a picture of a gremlin if you see one."

"And I'll tell you all about Abu Dhabi." Coraline hugged him for a bit, then let go and scampered over to her desk. "I have something to leave with you." She held out a silver thimble. "I could explain, but it wouldn't make much sense. Just trust me that it might be useful at some point."

Lucas accepted the thimble, turning it over in his hand and wondering how it could prove useful. "I trust you. And I'll miss you."
